Monkey Eats Hire Car at Longleat

Andy's Recommendation of the week :

Longleat Park

I've been away on holidays this week and had a really wonderful day in Longleat Park and House. Longleat is the estate featured on BBC's Animal Park television series. A day ticket costs £20 but offers a wonderful chance to get close to a huge number of animals and tour the home of the rather eccentric Lord Bath.

Len's Recommendation of the week :

PETER AND DAN SNOW : 20TH CENTURY BATTLEFIELDS. PART 3 – STALINGRAD
BBC2 MONDAY 18TH JUNE 9PM

This is the third part of the series in which Peter Snow takes a break from the swingomenter and helped by his son Dan tours some of the 20th Century’s most significant battlefields. Peter and Dan look at battles from World War I to the ongoing war in Iraq. This week they look at the battle of Stalingrad.
This epic struggle between the forces of National Socialist Germany and Communist Russia was the turning point of World War II.
From August 1942 to February 1943 the German Wehrmact fought the Soviet Red Army for control of the city on the Volga. Adolf Hitler’s dreams of Lebensraum were to end with the German 6th Army surrounded, starving and freezing to death in the ruins of Stalingrad as the savage Russian winter set in.

This series is essential viewing for anyone interested in the history of conflict in the 20th century.
