Recommendation of the week : |
| 24 Hour Party People
We talk this week about the sad and early passing of one of the
country's (if not the world's) top musical trailblazers. Tony
Wilson invented the Madchester music scene, discovering bands
like Joy Division, New Order and The Happy Mondays.
In this movie Steve Coogan plays Wilson, the film also starring
Ralf Little and John Simm (Life on Mars) as New Order's Bernard
Sumner, shows the early life of Wilson and demonstrates his less
than orthodox business practices.
This film is a must for all British music fans, plus its got
Alan Partridge!

Year Picnic - Hot Balloon |
 |
We make fun and eclectic pop
music--a swirly concoction of midwestern power pop, brit-pop,
americana, alternative country, and experimental folk. Basically,
we do whatever cracks us up, and we tend to like nice, big
melodies with smart words, fun orchestration, and lotsa vocals.

Smith - If this geek ruled the world |

Geoff's catchy piano driven pop is quite
contagious these days. Geoff is also the madman behind such
DSC jingles as Roger Smalls, Metrosexual Moment, and Trinity.

| Adama
- Take Me Home |
 |
Describing Adama's style creates interesting
thoughts within those who try to do so. Adama's rich, velvet
voice brings to mind visions of Sade, Seal and Dido. The music,
electronica by nature, is strong with pop-appeal, inviting
the word-of-mouth genre/term, electro-pop, for company.
