Andy's Recommendation of the week :

Sin City

The series of graphic novels by Frank Miller has finally made it to the big screen in this film noir style movie. The movie tells interlinking stories of the underworld of fictional Basin City.

The film was co-directed by Miller and Robert Rodriguez with special guest director Quentin Tarantino and uses amazing special affects and black and white contracts to create the comic book feel.

Extremely violent but a must for any fan of this genre.

Len's Recommendation of the week :

SNOPES.COM

This week's recommendation is a great website that looks at "urban legends, common fallacies, misinformation, old wives tales, strange news stories, rumours and celebrity gossip"
Snopes.com is run by Barbara and David Mikkelson a couple from California who married after meeting on the newsgroup alt.folklore.urban.

It delves into the murky waters of popular disinformatation looking at different topics such as crime, horrors food and military.

The feature that I particularly like is the use of a colour coded rating key to access the veracity of a story. So if you want to find out if chewing gum takes 7 years to pass through the human digestive system or if Fanta was invented by the Nazis then Snopes.com is the site for you!

Adrina Thorpe - Sorry

On Adrina Thorpe's debut album "elusive," delicate piano melodies & lush vocals weave in & out of each other, drifting amid the punchy bass & drum lines. First pressing almost sold out.

Aegis - Another Perfect Crime

San francisco digital artist aegis, explores electronica with bittersweet melody and a frequently insistent synthetic beat. These songs are not only an attempt to preserve moments, emotions, states of mind, but also, a celebration of change itself. Dark music for hopeful people.

Gary Hunter - Future World

Started out writing and recording synthpop music in 1989 and continued to develop and write more new wave material. In addition I have also recorded some ambient music and a fair share of dance and trance music. Currently working on more electronic based material.
