Andy's Recommendation of the week :

Amy MacDonald – This is the Life

Amy has just the most wonderful voice I’ve heard in absolutely ages. Amy from Glasgow, aged only 20, has a wonderfully distinctive and cultured voice, more like a Scottish highland accent.

This is the life is Amy’s first album, written in a pop style but cutting through youth and binge drinking culture with a knife, this album is a wonderful listen, the production is great however the lyrics and vocals always shine through.

Have a listen to the wonderful “Footballer’s Wife” about British tabloid culture or “Poison Prince” about the Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty.

Amy embraced tools like Bebo and iTunes to promote her work, even allowing a single to be given away free.
